Everything first-timers ask us in Bloomfield — pricing, pain and aftercare.
Our shop minimum is $100, which covers small, simple pieces. Most palm-sized work runs $150–$350, and larger custom pieces are quoted by the session. Price depends on size, placement, detail and color — send us a reference photo and we'll give you a straight number before you sit down.
Small and medium tattoos are quoted as a flat price for the piece. Sleeves, back pieces and multi-session work are booked hourly so you only pay for the time in the chair.
Most first-timers describe it as a hot scratch, not unbearable pain. Fleshy areas — outer arm, thigh, calf, shoulder — are the easiest. Ribs, sternum, spine, hands, feet and inner arm are the spiciest. Eat a real meal beforehand, stay hydrated, and tell your artist when you need a break; breaks are always fine.
Small pieces are usually 30–90 minutes including stencil and setup. Half-day sessions run 3–4 hours, full days 6–7 hours with breaks. We'll tell you the expected length when we quote the piece.
Sleep well, eat before you come, skip alcohol for 24 hours, and wear clothing that gives easy access to the area. Bring a valid photo ID — no exceptions, and we do not tattoo anyone under 18.
Leave the wrap on for 2–4 hours (or as your artist directs). Wash gently with unscented soap and warm water, pat dry, and apply a thin layer of unscented lotion or aftercare balm 2–3 times a day. No picking or scratching the flaking skin, no soaking — pools, baths, ocean — and no direct sun for 2–3 weeks. Healing takes about 2 weeks on the surface and up to a month underneath.
Yes — a free touch-up within 3 months of healing on work we did, as long as aftercare was followed. Just message us and we'll get you in.
Walk-ins are welcome when an artist is open, but booking ahead guarantees your time and artist. We're at 27 Franklin St, Bloomfield — Mon 1–9 PM, Tue–Sat 12–9 PM, Sun 12–5 PM.
Usually, yes. Cover-ups start at $200 and depend on the size, darkness and age of the existing piece. Send a clear, well-lit photo and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
